Canva Print Setup Guide
Setting Up Your File in Canva for Print
Using Canva to design your print piece? Here’s how to make sure your file is set up correctly so it prints perfectly with full bleed and crisp quality.
✅ Step 1: Show the Bleed Area
- Open your design in Canva.
- Click File in the top menu.
- Then click Settings at the bottom.
- Toggle on “Show print bleed.”
- You’ll now see a dotted line near the edges of your design.
- Extend any background colors or edge elements slightly past that line (about 0.125") so they reach the edge when trimmed.
✅ Step 2: Download Properly for Print
- Click Share → Download.
- Choose PDF Print as the file type.
- Make sure these boxes are checked:
- ✅ Crop marks
- ✅ Bleed
- If available, select the CMYK color profile for more accurate color in print.
- Click Download to export your file.
🎉 That’s it! Your file is now print-ready. If you’d like us to double-check it before production, you can send it directly to our art department using the button below:
